Water Soluble Calcium Fertilizer
Water soluble calcium fertilizer is an important tool to replenish calcium nutrients of crops quickly and efficiently, especially effective in preventing and correcting physiological diseases of fruits, such as umbilical rot, bitter pox, and fruit cracking. The core of scientific use lies in: understanding crop needs and calcium deficiency, choosing the right type (root calcium nitrate, foliar calcium chelate), diluting strictly according to the concentration, avoiding mixing with phosphorus and sulfur fertilizers, mastering the time of application (especially during the period of young fruit expansion), combining the root and foliar surfaces, and cooperating with good soil and water management.
Product Features & Applications
Water soluble calcium fertilizer is mainly applied by root irrigation and foliar spraying:
1. Root irrigation (drip, sprinkler, flush, root drench):
Purpose: To provide basic calcium nutrition and prevent widespread calcium deficiency.
Concentration: Adjust according to the type of fertilizer, crop calcium requirement, fertility stage and soil conditions. Generally, the recommended concentration range is 500-1500 times (e.g. 1 kg of fertilizer to 500-1500 kg of water). Please be sure to refer to the product package instructions for details.
Frequency: It can be applied once in 7-15 days interval during the critical period of calcium requirement of crops (such as fruit-sitting period, young fruit expansion period) or when the soil itself is deficient in calcium. Avoid continuous high concentration use.
2. Foliar spraying:
Purpose: Rapid relief of calcium deficiency symptoms, especially at the peak of calcium demand in fruit or when root absorption of calcium is impeded due to environmental factors (drought, low temperature). It is especially important for direct calcium supplementation of fruits to prevent physiological diseases (such as umbilical rot, bitter pox).
Concentration: The concentration of foliar spraying is more strict, usually 800-1500 times liquid (e.g. 10g fertilizer to 8-15kg water). Calcium chelate is usually safer and more efficient than calcium nitrate and calcium chloride, and is suitable for foliar spraying. It must be diluted strictly according to the product instructions! Too high a concentration can easily cause fertilizer damage (burning of leaves and fruits).
Frequency: During the critical period of calcium deficiency susceptibility (e.g., pre-bloom, young fruit, expansion period), spray at 7-10 day intervals for 2-3 consecutive sprays. Reduce frequency after symptoms are relieved.

A: Concentration is too low to be effective, and too high to cause fertilizer damage (root burning, leaf burning, fruit surface burning).

Q: Why should calcium supplement be combined with boron fertilizer? How to use it safely?
A: Boron promotes calcium absorption and transportation, and calcium supplementation is ineffective in the absence of boron. Calcium fertilizer and boron fertilizer interval 3-5 days separate use. Excessive boron is toxic, you need to pay attention to the dosage size when using!
Q: How to store water-soluble calcium fertilizer safely?
A: Three principles of storage
Sealed against moisture: Calcium nitrate, etc. is very susceptible to moisture absorption and caking (caking can still be used, but it needs to be crushed and dissolved);
Avoid light and cool: ≤35℃ environment storage, liquid calcium fertilizer to avoid freezing;
Keep away from alkaline substances: do not mix with alkaline substances such as lime and grass ash.
