Q: Can water-soluble calcium fertilizer be mixed with other fertilizers?
A: Cannot be mixed randomly! Special care is required:
Avoid direct mixing with high phosphate fertilizers (e.g., monoammonium phosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate), where calcium ions (Ca²⁺) will combine with phosphate (PO₄³-) to form insoluble calcium phosphate precipitates, which can clog drip heads or reduce fertilizer efficiency.
Avoid direct mixing with sulphate fertilizers (e.g. potassium sulphate, magnesium sulphate) as calcium sulphate precipitation may occur.
Q: How can I avoid burning my leaves when applying foliar calcium fertilizer?
A: Note three key operations:
1. Strictly according to the concentration of dilution: Calcium chloride spraying concentration is recommended 0.3% ~ 0.5% (such as 3 ~ 5 g / liter of water), calcium nitrate is recommended 0.5% ~ 1%, overdose is prone to trigger salt damage.
2. Choose the right time: early morning or evening spraying, avoiding high temperatures and strong light at noon, to avoid rapid evaporation of the solution concentrated concentration of leaf scorching.
