Orchards and tuber crops need different placement habits, but both can use granular humic material in the soil layer. For fruit trees, the product is often placed in furrows or holes around the tree area, not pressed against the trunk or fresh roots. Saplings may need a lighter amount, while mature trees can receive more when soil condition and tree size support it.
Tuber crops usually need careful soil management because the crop grows under the soil surface. A moderate granular humic rate can be used before planting or during soil preparation. Covering the fertilizer after application is important. It keeps the granule in the active soil layer and reduces waste from wind, dry surface soil, or uneven spreading. For orchards, workers should also mark treated rows, so the same tree line is not dressed twice while another row is missed.
