Water Soluble Iron Fertilizer
Water soluble iron fertilizers are fertilizers that can be dissolved in water and whose iron (Fe) can be absorbed and utilized directly or quickly by plants. They are mainly used for the correction and prevention of iron deficiency in plants (especially the yellowing of new leaves, a typical symptom of green veins) and are widely used in agriculture, horticulture (including potted plants) and hydroponic systems.
Product Features & Applications
Water soluble iron fertilizer provides a highly effective, chelated form of iron, essential forpreventing and correcting plant irondeficiencies . This fertilizer is suitable for a variety of crops, enhancing their growth and overall health. Additionally, it is easily soluble in water, making it convenient for foliar application orfertigation systems. Efficient Absorption: Chelates protect iron ions from being fixed by phosphates, carbonates, hydroxides, etc. in the soil (especially in neutral and alkaline soils), keeping them available for uptake by plant roots or leaves.
Stability: Not easily oxidized (especially by trivalent iron chelates) or precipitated.
Wide pH Adaptability: Some chelating agents (e.g. EDDHA) are effective over a wide pH range, even in alkaline soils with high pH.

Application Methods
1. Foliar spraying: the fastest and most effective method, especially for severe iron deficiency or impaired root absorption. Chelated iron is preferred. Attention should be paid to the concentration (usually 0.1%-0.3%), the time of application (evening or morning), and the uniformity of application (especially on the backs of new leaves). Multiple sprays are usually required.
2. Irrigation fertilization (drip, sprinkler): Water-soluble iron fertilizer is dissolved and applied with water through the irrigation system. Chelated iron is the mainstream choice, which can effectively reach the root zone and be absorbed. Attention needs to be paid to fertilizer concentration and compatibility.
3. Soil watering/flushing: Dissolve the fertilizer and pour it directly around the plant roots. Iron chelate is more effective, and ferrous sulfate can be tried in acidic soils.
Basal/Mixed: Ferrous sulphate is sometimes mixed with organic fertilizers and applied as a basal fertilizer to acidic soils. Chelated iron can also be applied basally, but at a higher cost.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What are the contraindications for using water soluble iron fertilizer?
A: Avoid simultaneous application with high-phosphorus fertilizers: High concentrations of phosphorus (P) will combine with iron to form insoluble substances, which can seriously impede iron absorption. Apply the two a few days apart.
Avoid mixing with substances containing high concentrations of antagonistic ions: High concentrations of ions such as zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), and copper (Cu) can also inhibit iron absorption. Be aware of these ingredients in pesticides or fertilizers and avoid mixing or high concentrations at the same time. Always check compatibility before mixing.
Avoid foliar spraying under strong light and high temperature: it is easy to cause fertilizer damage or accelerate the evaporation and crystallization of the solution.
Q: What may be the reason for no effect after using water soluble iron fertilizer?
A: Common causes include: Misdiagnosis: Yellow leaves are not caused by iron deficiency. Soil pH too high and wrong choice of fertilizer: EDTA, DTPA or ferrous sulphate (ineffective) used in alkaline soil, must use EDDHA-Fe.
Improper application methods: e.g. ferrous sulfate in alkaline soil loam; foliar spraying concentration too low/too high, not sprayed to the back of new leaves, raining soon after spraying.
